Satsang

Satsang, the company of the wise, consists of a half hour of silent meditation, half an hour chanting and a talk or reading on yoga philosophy. It helps you to develop a steady meditation practice, showing the way to peace and happiness.

Main Lecture

The main lecture will present the philosophical and practical backbone of the study of yoga. See the next page for subjects studied. This class requires homework; a summary of each lecture is handed in on the following day.

Chanting (Kirtan)

Devotional chanting opens the heart and purifies the mind. With daily Kirtan, you develop strong devotion and a pure vibration. In Kirtan, correct pronunciation, devotional attitude and awareness of meaning are all-important.

Bhagavad Gita

One of the great scriptures of the world, the Bhagavad Gita contains profound teachings which embrace every aspect of human action. It details the solution to the struggle between the spiritual and the material in every human.

Karma Yoga

Karma yoga, or selfless service, reduces selfishness and egoism, keeps you fit and healthy and gives immeasurable joy. In the Ashram you do many tasks including gardening, cleaning, office work and other work needed to run the community.
